Today we went to St. Simons to the beach. The weather was so nice and we wanted to spend a special day just playing. {The trip didn’t start great, as Hannah was a fussbudget most of the ride over. Thankfully, she rectified the situation.} We hadn’t been to the beach in a long time so we were wondering if Hannah would even remember it. {We did go briefly in October when we were down in Florida, so there is a slight chance. She would have been 13 months-old then.} Wisely, we didn’t count on being there very long. Anybody with small children knows that a “day” at the beach is usually a short stint unless you pack a load of stuff like a tent, umbrella, toys, food and everything else you can think of (and sometimes even then it’s a short stint). Regardless, Hannah had a great time. She was very social. She had to say hello to everybody, sit in their chairs, play with their shovels, sandals, soccer balls, what-have-you. She liked chasing the seagulls and playing knee-deep in the water and made a friend her age.{This little boy was the IV and had a baby sister four weeks old…we had quite a bit in common.} After the beach, we went to Five Guys – our favorite place, Target (I know, I know), and then came home.
It was a beautiful day shared with my two favorite people.
